Brilliant website of Monet exhibition in Paris
This is one my favourite paintings - Blir du lönsam, lille vän? (Will you become profitable my friend?), 1971-1972, by Swedish artist Peter Tillberg. It is displayed in Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm.
When you stand in front of it, you feel entering a real classroom with kids sitting at their desks and expecting you to tell them something interesting and meaningful. You can easily distinguish different characters: some children are very curious about what’s going on, some are just bored, some are dreaming… But they all wait for you to start talking. It is a test because you question yourself if you actually know anything about life and if you actually have something important to tell them.
It is a painting that brings up a lot of questions and make you think about your own role in this world.
